Merlion Park

During my extremely short trip to Singapore, I had to be efficient and tactical in my sight seeing adventures.  My Uber driver did not disappoint; Just after 3:00am we arrived at Merlion park.  A place I spent some time to snap pictures and take in the beauty of the area.

Side note: For the casual travelers and tourists, I’d recommend a few days here!

Merlion Park

One of the most iconic statues has become a marketing symbol of Singapore.  It’s an unmistakable landmark of a lion’s head on a fish’s body, shooting water into the bay.

Typically this area is inundated with tourists because the Merlion and proximity of the Marina Sands hotel.  Be prepared to deal with tons of tourists jockeying for a prime position on the pier to snap a photo with the Merlion in the background.

Because I arrived well after the tourists were asleep, I had the run of the park, able to grab some amazing shots from many different angles without being photobombed every 12 seconds.

The park had prime views of the Marina Sands hotel, ArtScience museum and the downtown Singapore skyline.  This is a great place to start your journey in Singapore!  It gives you a 360 degree view of what this tiny country has to offer.
